I am Neil Hodkin, a Company Director and retired Specialist Paramedic. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis following a period of ill health eight years ago. I commenced physiotherapy treatment with Joe in the spring of 2018 following an extended period of time without any physiotherapy involvement. Prior to that I have seen several Physiotherapists. I hope to be able to continue treatment with Joe for many years to come. Joe holds an in depth knowledge and understanding of all illnesses, conditions and events that impact upon an individual's ability to physically function correctly. He has an extensive library of physiotherapy experience in this country and abroad. I believe his knowledge and ability is second to none and he is definitely the best Neuro-Physiotherapist that I have received treatment from since my diagnosis. Joe always undertakes a detailed personal, medical and physical assessment of each prospective patient prior to commencing a personalised treatment plan. He will refer patients where they may benefit from additional treatment and medical involvement. Each time that I have received treatment from Joe he has tailored the individual session and available time specifically to my underlying physical condition on the day. On occasions this has involved hands on physical treatment, whilst on others I have been challenged to undertake tasks that I have not felt able or confident to participate in for many years. Following Joe's treatment I am much more aware of my actual abilities, weaknesses and strengths. This understanding makes me far less vulnerable to accidents or further injury. I now have the confidence to actively undertake daily tasks and challenges that I would have previously avoided. Joe encourages patients to push their abilities and exercise outside of their usual comfort zone but within a safe environment with him close by their side. From a personal perspective I am now able to jump, jog and even run without any fear within Joe's safe physiotherapy environment. These are activities which I have not done for many years and didn't think I would ever do again. As a result of Joe's treatment my fitness, strength and recovery levels have significantly improved. I am also more confident and able to undertake all daily physical activities whilst still being accurately aware of my limitations. I no longer worry about reducing my daily activities as I now recover quickly enough to keep active throughout the day and evening. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Joe as a Physiotherapist of first choice. I personally know that you will not be disappointed with his knowledge, commitment or drive to improve or rectify your condition, injury or issue. I say in all honesty that if your problem can be improved or cured with physiotherapy then Joe will strive for the very best outcome.

I have been treated by Joe now for for about ten months. During therapy we have been focusing on exercises that promote better functionality. This is combined with tackling the ups and downs of MS. Joe does push every session and challenges limitations, enabling me to go further. I feel I have improved strength and function since starting and have been given techniques to continue improving. This has had a positive effect on my ability to move around during the day - simple things like transferring to chairs or my wheelchair are easier and safer. I would certainly recommend Joe, he has a good knowledge of how to best use the ability you have.

I have been treated weekly by Joe for 9 months. Due to his specialist neurological training and knowledge he has been able to tailor treatment and exercises to target my key symptom areas. I find the weekly sessions invaluable, helping me with my balance problems and pushing for improvement in my walking. Physiotherapy is one of the most important treatments for ongoing management of chronic conditions such as MS in my opinion. My neurologist is 100% behind me having this regular therapy with Joe. I believe that this regular treatment is helping to hold my disability and stop degradation. I would recommend Joe to others, particularly those with neuro conditions, physios with real neuro experience are hard to come by and worth hanging on to.
